Training partnership - Innovative, traditional craftsmanship in the Himalayas and Europe
Bhutan is internationally renowned for its architecture and the associated traditional craftsmanship in wood and clay construction.
Sustainable construction methods, innovative building materials and ecological as well as economically creative architectural application fields reflect the requirements of the international as well as increasingly the local architectural scene. In addition, global trends in architecture and construction are increasingly targeting sustainable materials and innovative, hybrid building and construction methods.
Both timber construction and earthen construction are on the verge of being rediscovered as traditional, but also forward-looking building technologies. It is necessary to harmonize these experiences with current scientific findings and to establish corresponding training and research areas.
The aim of the training partnership with the Royal Academy of Bhutan is to establish an internationally recognized training and research institution in the field of sustainable, ecological planning & construction methods with a focus on wood building materials and corresponding applications.

Camp Rural-Urban Friendship
Camp RUF was started by teacher Tenzin Dorji and his wife Kelzang Chhoden, who has already passed away. Every year since 2014, Camp RUF has brought children and youth from rural and urban areas together in one place. Experiencing the "other" together, sharing experiences, taking responsibility for themselves and others, leads to compassion and empathy - differences are bridged and friendships are formed. The vision of His Majesty, Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck, to strengthen the youth in the country, has with the Camp RUF an initiative appropriate to the youth, to unite tradition and modernity and to promote a positive social development.
